Getting started

Modules and workflows

Start with a ready-made module, open it in the editor when you want more, and build your own workflow for everything else.

Modules: switch it on

Open Bots › Discord › Browse modules, pick a module and install it in one click. Its page then lists its steps, from the event that starts it to what it does. Select a step to set any of its options, such as the channel to post in or the message to send, and insert data from the event, like the member's name. Steps that still need a value are marked; the module starts as soon as every step is set.

Every module of a server lives in one workflow, shown as Modules in your workflow list, so it takes a single workflow slot however many modules you install.

The library has sixteen Discord modules:

ModuleWhat it does
Welcome & goodbyeGreets new members with a message or a card, gives their first roles, says goodbye
AutoroleGives every new member a role
Role pickerOne message with buttons, members pick their own roles
Custom commandsAnswers !rules, !ip and any command you invent
Keyword repliesAnswers a common question the moment someone asks it
Word filterDeletes banned words and warns the author
Invite link blockerDeletes invite links to other servers
Server logsRecords joins, leaves, edited and deleted messages
Voice activity logRecords who joins and leaves voice channels
LevelingXP, levels and level-up announcements
GiveawaysAn entry button and a fair random draw at the end
Support ticketsA button that opens a private channel with your staff
StarboardReposts the messages your members star the most
Scheduled messagesPosts a reminder every hour, day, week or month
Twitch live alertAnnounces in Discord when you go live on Twitch
YouTube alertsAnnounces new videos and live streams of a YouTube channel

Role picker, giveaways and tickets post a message on demand: use the Post button on their page after saving their steps.

A few modules also have module options above their steps, for choices that add or remove steps: the commands of Custom commands, the events of Server logs, sending a goodbye. Changing one keeps what you already set on the other steps.

Customize: open it in the editor

Each module page has Customize in editor. The module is made of ordinary steps, the same ones you use in your own workflows, so the editor is where you add steps, branches or AI. In the editor its block carries a Module badge and a link back to its page.

Options you change in the editor show up on the module page, and the other way round. If you add or rewire steps there, the module page still sets every step, says what changed, and locks its module options so they never rebuild over your work. Restore the module rebuilds it from its options if you want to go back.

Workflows: build anything

When no module does what you need, create a workflow from Workflows › New workflow. Start blank, from a template or from a description. If the name you type matches a module, for example "Welcome message", the dialog points to it first.

See Build your first workflow to get started.

Runs

A module only uses one of your monthly runs when it acts. Messages that do not trigger anything, such as a clean message read by the word filter, are free. The runs shown on a module page are the ones that did something.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a module and a workflow?

A module is a ready-made option of your bot, such as a welcome message or a word filter. You install it in one click and set its steps on its page. A workflow is an automation you build yourself on the canvas, step by step, with no limit on what it does.

Can I change how a module works?

Yes. Its page lists every step, from the event that starts it to what it does, and lets you set every option of each one. To add steps, branches or AI, open it in the editor from the same page.

How do I undo my edits to a module?

Open the module page and choose Restore the module. It is rebuilt from its options, steps added in the editor are removed and every step goes back to the module's settings.

Do modules use my monthly runs?

Only when they do something. A word filter reading a clean message, a keyword reply that matched nothing or XP still on cooldown is free.

Do I need my own Discord bot to use modules?

No. When the NoriaFlow app is available, add it to your server in one step and turn modules on. Bring your own bot when you want it to carry your own name and avatar.

Where do I find modules for YouTube or Twitch?

A module runs on the bot that acts. YouTube alerts and Twitch live alerts run on your Discord bot and post in your server. The YouTube and Twitch pages list the modules that listen to them.
